Bolivar Park, also known as Bolivar Square, is an urban space located in the heart of the historic center of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. This emblematic place is full of history and cultural symbolism. It was originally called Plaza de la Iglesia and then Plaza Mayor, where military ceremonies were held. In 1610, with the arrival of the Inquisition Tribunal, it adopted the name Plaza de la Inquisición. In 1896, an equestrian statue of Simón Bolívar, sculpted in bronze by the Venezuelan Eloy Palacios in Munich, was installed, which led to the place being renamed Plaza de Bolívar. There are two replicas of this statue, one in Maracaibo and the other in Guayaquil.

The park is located within the historic center, a walled enclosure with narrow streets, colonial and republican style buildings, most of them between three and four stories high. This sector, also known as the "walled city", has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is one of Colombia's main tourist destinations.

Bolivar Park combines green and paved areas, with a rich arborization, benches, fountains and other elements typical of public spaces. Around the square you can find important buildings, such as the Palace of the Inquisition in baroque style, the Cathedral of Cartagena in Herrera style, the Palace of the Proclamation, the building of the Bank of the Republic and the Zenú Gold Museum.

A recent restoration of the park, completed in November 2023, cost 1.65 billion pesos. In addition, the park houses a four-ton colonial artillery mortar, found in 1927 near the San Fernando de Bocachica fort, and a statue of Gabriel García Márquez in the northeast corner of the park.
