The Virgen de las Nieves or Ibiza Cathedral is located in Dalt Vila. It was built over the old mosque of Yebisah. It is a cathedral built in the 13th century in the Gothic-Catalan style, although the nave is in the Baroque style. In 1782 the bishopric of Ibiza was officially created, which meant that the temple acquired cathedral status.

This cathedral worships Santa María la Mayor, the Virgin of Las Nieves (Mare de Déu de les Neus, patron saint of Ibiza and Formentera), because her name day (the 5th of August) was the Marian feast day closest to the 8th of August, the date of the conquest of Ibiza, and the Aragonese wanted to build a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary to commemorate this event. The image of Las Nieves presides over the main altar of Ibiza's cathedral in a niche or altarpiece in the form of a shrine or baldachin. The current image of the Patron Saint of Ibiza was made in 1937 by the Valencian workshop of the sculptors Román and Salvador, who also made the carving of the Recumbent Christ and the Virgin of Sorrows that are in the cathedral. San Ciriaco is also venerated in the temple, celebrated on the aforementioned 8th of August, and who is also the patron saint of the island and its capital.

In the 17th century its interior was completely remodelled in the Baroque style. You can visit the Sacristy Museum.
