Capilla de Santa Ana

It occupies two portions parallel to the Gospel nave, between the Chapel of Santa Tecla and the northern arm of the transept. The extraordinary main altarpiece, dedicated to the iconographic theme of the Tree of Jesse and the genealogy of the Virgin, whose main element is the embrace of Sts. Joachim and Anne, was executed with his characteristic virtuosity by the Spanish-Flemish artist Gil de Siloé between 1486 and 1492; the tomb of Bishop Luis, who died in 1477, was sculpted by the Spanish-Flemish artist Juan de Colonia and his son Simón in the Started vaults wrap the ceiling, and a Gothic grille by Luis de Paredes serves as the entrance.
