Capilla de los Médici

The Medici Chapels are two additions to Brunelleschi's 15th-century church at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence, Italy, that were constructed in the 16th and 17th centuries in honor of the Medici family, who were both benefactors of the church and Grand Dukes of Tuscany. Michelangelo conceived of and designed the Sagrestia Nuova (or "New Sacristy") in Florence. The grander Cappella dei Principi ("Chapel of the Princes") was envisioned in the 16th century but construction didn't begin until the early 17th century, when the family worked with architects to design it.

You won't want to mix this with the Chapel of the Magi in the former principal Medici residence, Palazzo Medici Riccardi. In here you can see the well-known fresco cycle by Benozzo Gozzoli, completed in 1459.
